Science is often portrayed as taking place in a vacuum, and in the media scientists are seen as being detached from popular culture and social movements as they work alone late at night.
The purpose of this blog is to break the fourth wall of science writing. Here I intend to tell deeply personal stories about life as a scientist, write about experiments from decades past in a way that reanimates old work and brings scientists who lived long ago back to life, and provide sharp political and societal commentary to illustrate how science fits into the fabric our lives and culture.
